Which would you prefer to be a nanny or teacher. I have been offered both jobs and don't know what one to choose.

BTW the nanny job pays better

~I'm a teacher/SAHM and when ~I go back to work i'll be looking forward to teaching. Also feel that i worked for 4 years to qualify as a teacher (degree and pgce) so would want to utilise that

teacher.vote for me .

Do think the teaching has more prospects to my own personal development than the nanny will have.

The nanny job does pay better but in five year it will be exactly the same job. The teaching job I can develop as I choose but the pay isn't as good right now, plus it can be a bit bitty.

Thanks for all your input.

I went and met the family and was offered a prova next week. However a friend of friend has asked to do a summer camp thing mornings only for the next few week paying the same as the nanny job (2000e per month). Plus if all goes well with summer camp it will be an all year round thing (afternoons in the winter) which I can fit in with my teaching, which I do really enjoy. Plus the children are my kids age so good for them too.

I really liked the nanny job family but am concerned about a few things.

  1. I will have to drive inland where it gets blooming cold and very snowing in Dec, Jan and Feb.

  2. 2 under 2 years olds is very hard work and will be very resticting.

But the pluses are good too

Swings and roundabouts and time is running out.

All in all I am no nearer deciding
