Advice for DH

Hi
DH has a small salon (is a hairdresser/barber) and is looking to rent a chair out a couple of days or so a week, but hasnt advertised yet. A lady has asked if he has any 'jobs' - she is qualified & experienced. So, DH has spoken to a diff salon owner who she worked for years ago, for a kind of reference, and apparently she had some problems with alcohol while she worked there and sometimes was drunk at work.
So, what should he do - the other salon owner doesn't want him to let her know that he has said anything, but should he broach it? Obviously he can't have her working there if she's under the influence, but maybe she is sober now, how should he deal with it?
Tia.

You said he hasn't advertised yet? In which case, he can tell her that when he advertises if she wants to apply she can respond the ad as he wants to have a fair process.
That way he can let her know he has found someone who fits in more with his salon's look / style?

Impossible to advise what he should do without knowing what he wants to achieve.

If he's looking to rent a chair out rather than employ anyone then he doesn't have any jobs and should say no to her query.

If he wants to rent her the chair he should say that is on offer, and make sure whatever contract allows him to terminate if he later has concerns.

If he doesn't want to rent her the chair because he's worried then he should just say no.

Thanks. He does need to rent a chair out because he is going to have to cut his hours soon due to health issues, so we need the money.
Will suggest about the contract terms (have already suggested a trial run), he's mainly concerned because she would be there when he isn't, so he couldn't make sure she was capable every day. Hmm, will see what he says. Thank you!
