So, am trying to build more freelance work and so am putting together my website. But I can't decide whether to go with simply my name: ie sweetaddict.com or a shortened form that I use for twitter, email etc but is less formal: ie sweeadd.com? Any opinions?

Sorry this is really really dull...but I'm doing my own head in thinking about it help!

Definitely the whole name!

Yes you think? I just wasn't sure if I would stand out enough. (Also I kind of hate my married surname as it ends in 'c*ck'!)

I think it would look more professional- what kind of work are you going to be doing?

If it's something creative then maybe the shortened version, but if its something 'professional' then I would stick with the long version.

They aren't expensive so buy both!

for DHs business we bought four permutations of the name and have them all mirrored onto the main site
costs us an extra £30 a year over and above the single set of hosting

I have a domain just for email!

Yes hadn't thought of buying both really. Its writing/editing/designing so kind of creative. But if you buy both - would you then list both on any marketing?

sweet
can if you like, or you use one and mirror the other to it
you could put a different emphasis on each ....
chop and change see what works
