Should I apply?

Just looking for other people's opinions. I am currently studying Level 2 Support teaching and learning, course finishes end of March and have just seen an advert for a TA position in a local school which looks perfect for me. However, they want someone to start immediately, interviews first week in February, so I imagine they want someone to start after half term. Is it worth me applying? If I mention I am not available til end of March will they just throw my application on the 'no' pile? The application has to be in for the 30th January and is quite intense and detailed, it will probably take me the whole weekend to fill in! Thinking I should just do it and see what happens but was wondering if there was anyone here with some inside info when it comes to such applications.

I don't know but wonder if you could give the school a ring (armed with lots of positive info about what you COULD offer) and ask if it's worth you applying?

Thats an idea, party. I am just in the middle of drafting a covering letter, might give them a ring before I spend hours trying to work out my skills, achievements and personal qualities!

Yes always worth a try... though in schools it can be very difficult to get through to the person who can talk to you about it. Be ready to sell yourself on the phone so you sound super motivated and the person for the job!
