I'm a paediatric nurse, have been for 15yrs, worked in loads of different clinical settings, currently part time on a general paeds ward at local dgh. I enjoy my job and appreciate the flexibility it offers but am thinking I am going to need in a change in the near future. My youngest dc starts full time school this year and although I'm not in a hurry to increase my hours, I think that the time is coming when I'm going to want to. I'm just not sure I want to do anymore hours in my current position. I really would love a term time only, part time job. School nursing seems the most obvious but jobs are quite thin on the ground. I quite fancy a complete change from nursing but not qualified to do anything else. Would love to be a TA, but the money is not great. Has anybody come out of nursing? What do you do now?

The only people I know who do term time, part time jobs work in education.

Something in public sector possibly?

Very slim chance you would get those hours in a commercial business.

Own business?
