Hi - I am a nearly 50(!!) y/o Mum of 2 who has taken 13 years "off" full time paid work to bring up my children, work part time (till 2007) fundraise, event organise and work p/t for Husband as Admin/PA/Dogsbody. I am now DESPERATE for a full time work for financial/boredom and personal reasons (24/7 of husband is not a good thing!!) I have massive experience in Admin/PA/Event Management, can read accounts, am v organised etc etc etc...... Dont want to fly too high to start with but everything I try for I am either over qualified, under qualified or (and this is a great one) too intelligent(???) for the role. Have had interviews but always the bridesmaid ...never the bride - If anyone has any advice, help or thoughts please let me know - it is beginning to really drag me down and this doesnt help either. Also anyone need anyone to do anything in cumbria - pls let me know !!!

Thanks in advance

Have you considered going self employed/free lancing? I have a friend who sounds very like you, she has set up as a virtual office, does all the admin for several very small businesses who can't justify having someone full time.

thanks so much - will investigate - only snag would be that I am still at home and one of my massive needs is to get out for some time every day - break from hubby who works from home !!!

Get some temping experience with an agency, you can specify when you want to work and you never where it could lead.
