I am returning to the same job after 10 months ml. I requested pt but was refused so I am returning full time as before but I have been told my pay will be the same as the person who covered me. This is 2.5k lower than I was being paid. Can she do this ?

no they cannot do that:

www.gov.uk/employee-rights-when-on-leave - needs to have the same terms and conditions if you are returning to the same job

www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/technical-guidance/ni17a-a-guide-to-maternity/statutory-maternity-pay-smp/resuming-work/ - says

If you take additional maternity leave after ordinary maternity leave you have a right to return to the same job, or one with no less favourable terms and conditions if it is not possible for you to return to your former job.
