Hello! I'm going to try to be reasonably vague so as not to out myself. I work in a secondary school and began ML just after the start of this academic year. At the end of last year the head left and at Christmasthe deputy/my line manager. There is an acting structure in place at the moment and they are not replacing the deputy until after the new head starts in Sep. As part of the acting structure my roles are being carried out by a number of people.
The acting head met with me yesterday and essentially asked me to return to do the role of the deputy who has left, but using a very vague title/without the pay. The acting structure - including my role - would stay in place so my original job is safe. I emailed her today to basically clarify this and to query payment and she's replied to say she needs to keep this role as close to mine as possible so as not to have to advertise but that I should think of the long term options/the positive position ill be in when a full structure is advertised.
I am rubbish at this kind of thing and don't want to rock the boat, but I do think the payment is probably unfair. She has asked me to come in again to discuss. Does anyone have any advice?
