Do I follow up after interview?

Had an interview Tuesday, interviewee says they will make a decision by the end of this week with a view to role starting in the new year.

Do I follow up with HR manager to thank them for organising interview and nudge them?

No idea what to do for the best but really want this job!

I would as it can only been seen as a good thing - you are enthusiastic and I assure they will be happy with that - plus otherwise you won't know until after Christmas Grin

Thank you for posting never :) I did send a short email last night in the end after business hours though. But you're right if I don't find out today I guess I won't until after Xmas. Becoming a bit despondent now as it's been so long. But trying to keep positive-perhaps they need to have a meet

Argh-perhaps they have to organise a meeting to decide salary Etc and they're busy in the run up to Christmas. Keeping everything crossed I really want this job!

Having hired people in the past I think it's a good sign you haven't heard - if you were a definite "no" they would let you know straight away. There are lots of reasons a decision/offer can be delayed - usually due to difficulties in tracking down the people needed to sign off - especially around Christmas.

Good luck!!!
