Lying ex boss

I left my last job partially as my manager was lying about projects and taking credit for my work. I have since found out that the manager is still blaming me for the shortcomings and missed deadlines etc. what can I do? It annoys me but I don't work there and have limited contact with people so should I just let it go?

It's all you can do really.

Yeah same thing happened to me. I was really annoyed, but then he (manager) got fired for dodgy dealings. Your ex manager will get their comeuppance, might be a while but they will. Let it go, and concentrate on your current role.

How do you even know? Is it actually affecting you in any way - do you work with your old company as part of a new job or something?

Everyone who leaves gets blamed for any mistakes, even of everyone got on well at the time.

A lot of people will know what they are like and those who don't will wise up when stuff is still crap/not done and you left ages ago.

I had a manager who did exactly what Pancakeflipper says - he blamed an ex-colleague for the failure of a project which hadn't even been started when she left! I'm talking about a nine-month gap, and her name was still being thrown around in blame!

So just before I left (because of the manager, more than anything else), I sent an email with an update on all the work I was handing over with the current status, location of files etc, to everyone in my department - that was only about 7 people admittedly but still, felt better about leaving. I don't know if he did then lie about me but I'd moved on and didn't care. Also, the fact that he'd lied about my ex-colleague but that we all knew the truth reassured me.
