CV's - what do they look like these days?

I haven't written a CV for a few years and fear mine may be out of date - I would like to see some "modern" "professional" ones? or does it really depend on the type of job I'm going for? anyone know where I can view a range of cv's? or could I just use a wizard? what is acceptable these days? confused..

Microsoft's resume templates are pretty good. I recommend a short personal statement (major strengths and aspirations), then career history in reverse chronological order (listing achievements, not job description), then personal details (exams, contact details). It must be perfect in terms of spelling. Leave out salary and referees.

I normally tailor the CV to each job - just a small change in emphasis to highlight the most relevant things.
