Holiday pay

Hiya all,
My extended maternity leave ends end of November 2006 (after 1 year off), then I have all my holiday booked so not going back until 29th December (if I do go back).
I know I get holiday pay, but will this be the full amount? If so, am I right in thinking this should be just over 1 months salary?

It will be pro rata, probably. If your holiday year begins on say 1st April, and you book hols from say 1st Dec to coincide with aml ending, you will be due your year's allowance divided by 12, multiplied by 8, as 1 April-1 Dec is 8 months. IYSWIM?!

Thanx for reply bramblina. Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I get my 22 days holiday as holiday year starts jan in our company. Just wondered how much money I get?? Is it based on my normal salary or the £106/week SMP i got the first 6 months??

Hmmm not sure. Check your contract. I would think it should be normal salary, ie what you would get if mat pay didn't come in to it. Our company goes by "hours" so atm I'm due 42 hrs, have handed in my notice, AML ends on 31 July and I'm collecting what hols I'm due, and ours go by hourly pay (so 42xmin wage ! for me) so therefore I think you should get your slary as you say. See what your contract says though as sometimes it goes by an average, though if you are on a salary I would doubt it. Good luck! HTH
