Dh sent his tax return in on time. It was sent back as he had made a mistake somewhere, but it was stamped with the date they had received it. The accompanying letter told him to send it back by mid November, which he did.
Today he has received a £100 fine for sending in a late tax return
There is an appeal form included which he will fill in. I suppose his amended form could have got lost in the post, but he didn't get a proof of postage, so no way to prove he sent it back. Bloody tax office. He's sent his form in on time for over 20 years!
Do you think he'll win an appeal?
