waaaaa I want to be a stay at home mum! I don't like only seeing ds in teh evenings when I am shattered from a day at work and at weekends. I want to have more time to spend with him so I can do all sorts of stuff with him without having to worry that it's nearly his bed time etc..

Oh, I sympathise. Hated this too. Ended up going freelance and part-time, which was nerve-racking but, touch wood, is going OK. But I realise it's not possible for everyone.
Could you put in a formal request for flexible working, at all?

JJ, me too. Have applied to go part time, was refused again. Can't find a p/t job that covers childcare and leaves enough to pay the bills. Crap isn't it?

(pls ignore the first post, it was incomplete but somehow got posted anyway ????)

Flexi working a bit tough , is a FT job, couldn't really afford to do PT and still pay for nursery for the working days etc (plus need my FT salary for mortgage etc - DH is self emlployed so banks prefer my job!) Could do condesned hours but that would mean not seeing DS at all on the days I did extra hours...
I try to work from home 1 day a week to get rid of my horrid journey...but it's not exactly quality time throwing entertaining things at ds so I can get onwith stuff on pc...
Am about to see if there is a free office in a couple of sites closer to home to work from a day or two a week to reduce the commute...

Even so, would like the chance to choose to be a SAHM/WAHM/WOHM/PT/FT..
