Taking a second part time job

I've started a thread called "working one day a week" on gbtw but have had few responses.

Has anyone had any experience of working for more than one employer? I've just been offered a one day a week job and should be grateful as I've been looking for a LONG time but I'd like to increase hours eventually. The job that I've been offered can't really do that.

I have had 2 part time jobs before. It depends on how much you earn or how many hours etc, but If you have two jobs you do pay more tax (a higher rate of tax than if you had one job at same/similar hours).
As long as having the two jobs doesn't bring you into a different tax bracket then you should be ok. There is a limit of how much you can earn a year before you are taxed - this has just been raised, can't remember exact amount - around £3.5-4.5k a yr.
Also make sure that each job doesn't interfere with each other in terms of flexibility etc that employer may want.
Good luck!
