Paternity pay

Hi this is my first post as this is first baby so new to all this! Just wondered if anyone could help. My husband notified his work on 4 November that he would be taking 2 weeks paternity leave in May next year. His boss replied saying that he is entitled to 2 full weeks pay. The policy on the system says 2 weeks full pay. HR are saying he is only entitled to 1 week full pay as their policy has changed - it seems somewhere between him notifying his boss and HR emailing him on Friday. I think his HR team are the wrong (because he notified them before the policy change and the new policy has not been rolled out on the system yet) but I haven't found anything concrete legally to back that up. Has anyone has a similar experience? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This website will give you the legal minimums he's entitled to:

www.gov.uk/paternity-pay-leave/overview

But your post implies that they have an enhanced pay policy in place. If they're changing that policy and he's not taking leave until May then it seems to make sense that the new rules will be applied.
