Cv verification

I'm thinking of using a cv verification service to check candidates are being truthful on their cvs and wondered if anyone had any experience of using them?

That's me off to correct my, ahem, rather elaborate cv then

You mean people sometimes tell the truth?

Out of interest, what do people lie about on their CV's?

I'm rubbish at lying IRL, so daren't make things up, or embellish things on my CV, just in case I'm asked in an interview.

Uprising, lots of things, having a degree, degree results, length of time in previous employment, levels of responsibility, size of budget etc.

People lie on their CV? Shock
It is all very easily verified especially nowadays. Confused

I've never used one, but I've had to provide my degree certificates on starting 3 out of the 5 full-time jobs I've had. I wouldn't lie on a CV, as it's too easy to get found out these days - but also, I'm well-qualified and have worked for well-known companies. If I had had a different academic and/or experience, I wonder if I'd ever have been tempted? (Probably not, I am really bad at lying, to the point of tactlessness.)

But back to the OP - never used one, but I know my current employers do a general online search (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc). I don't know if that would be more cost-effective than paying someone else.
