Hi. I'm brand new to this topic. DH has a full time job but does picture framing as a hobby and is considering moving in this direction. There are a few business opportunities for sale but neither of us has any experience in running our own business. Can anyone recommend a course or books to help beginners get to grips with what we need to know, please?

I have done all my research and training on MN so don't listen to me

Can you contact your local council for business advisors and any venturing projects? I went on a free three day start up course with a free one to one session with an advisor to discuss business plans and grant applications. I've also received help from Business Wales and. local community group (I live in a Community First area, think it might be a Welsh Government scheme).

As I am already registered self employed as a Foster Carer, this did limit the help I could get. The job centre can help
with funding etc if you are currently unemployed.
