Unsure about.....

Is my employer entitled to ask/make comments about my childcare arrangements? I missed a Sunday morning staff meeting as I was unable to arrrange childcare and in my disciplinary hearing my manager seemed intent on making my childcare arrangements the focus of the hearing. I just need to know just in case I can use this in any appeal.

Thanks in advance wise and wonderful Mumsnetters!

What are you being disciplined for? Not attending the meeting? Give some more details on what happened...are these usual hours? Or on top? How much notice did you have etcetera...

FunkyBoldRibena · 04/11/2013 23:26

And how long have you worked there?

EatDessertFirst · 04/11/2013 23:40

I'm being disciplined for not attending the meeting.

I had less than 48 hours notice, do not get paid to attend and the meetings are not regular at all. I had already made it clear that I wasn't avaliable that day at all as DP was on nights.

I've been there six and a half years.

You are being stitched up. Get some advice and record the meeting.

Thank you.

Acas have sent me a very useful and relevant leaflet. Just got to wait and see what happens next. X
