going back to work cv issues

Hi, I'm considering going back to work after taking a few years off. I am trying to put together my CV but I cannot get in touch with referees/career based references as I haven't kept in touch with them and they've moved on or retired.

I'm hoping to speak to some recruitment agencies in the next few weeks but I'd hoped to have a cv together before then.

any ideas?

Do the companies still exist as they can still provide a reference even if you don't know a specific person anymore.

I'm a teacher so I wasn't sure if it needed to be the head teacher.

You don't have to name referees on your CV! It's perfectly acceptable to state "References available on request". Obviously you still have to get in touch with potential referees, but that needn't delay you from putting together your CV.

Thanks heads down. That's what I'll do.
