Mixture of emotions right now. Excited, nervous, sad that my time with the kiddies being tiny is over, have I made the right choice of job.
Going to be a doctor's receptionist (yes I've had all the jokes of how horrid they can be! ). It's only 15 hours a week - 5 of those tomorrow.

Oh gooooood luck honey! Wish you all the best. I'm doing the opposite way and am equally petrified. (my 3rd is 6 weeks old) but suspect I'm be just as unhappy as you in a few years going back.

Wishing you all the best.

Well done and good luck Sparkler! I?m just starting the ?at home with family? thing. DS is 10 weeks old and I?ve just handed my notice in! I?ve got to work 13 weeks to keep my maternity pay, then I really will be a SAHMof1!

How did you get on Sparkler???

Northerner · 04/07/2006 15:43

How did you get on sparkler? I think it will be a very interesting job.

Are you saving to buy a conservatory?

sparkler1wantsaconservatory · 04/07/2006 23:37

pmsl Northerner - I don't think my pitiful wage will stretch that far, unfortunately.
Thanks for asking Chjlly. I missed our MSN chat today - haven't had five minutes to myself!
It went very well and I really enjoyed it. There is so much to take in but one step at a time. I have spent too much time in starting previous jobs getting upset and worrying that I'm never going to get the hang of it. I am going to be a new woman in this one. Everyone at the surgery is really friendly and lovely so that helped loads. Not in until Thursday now so have a day to let my blistered feet recover from my new, sensible shoes.

repeat after me: ''Is is really urgent? Oh, well (sigh deeply) I may be able to find you an appointment in 5 weeks' time...''

Sorry, expect you've heard all this...
Actually, I was looking for doc's reception work - thoiught it'd be really interesting, but got offered another job instead. Best of luck

sparkler1wantsaconservatory · 05/07/2006 11:59

Once I get the hang of the surgery and it's workings it's going to be very interesting. Loads to learn though.
