Hello,

I'd like to ask for your help with something I'm working on...

During my mat leave I've been thinking about my career and what I want to do with the rest of my life. Big stuff. I've been reading a few books and one of them suggested that I formulate a 'WANTED' ad for myself, so here it is.

The idea is for people to recommend careers they think would fit the person in the advert, so that's where you come in.

What I need from you
Please suggest 2 or 3 jobs you think the person described below might be good at. Feel free to throw in the first ideas that jump into your brain.
Don't worry about the practicalities, I'll have plenty of time to worry about that!

Please be as specific as possible, so for example say something like 'you should do charity work with street kids in Rio de Janeiro' rather than 'you should work with children'.

I've found it challenging to describe myself without describing my current job so apologies in advance if my wanted ad sounds quite generic.

Feel free to direct message me so other people can think independently. Maybe one of you will come up with a new job for me that leads to great things... how marvellous would that be?!

Many thanks in advance for taking the time to help me.
Xxx

sounds to me like you'd be good in a customer or supplier facing role, perhaps look at what ur practical skills are if IT skills r good think about becoming a buyer for a decent company ie not one that is just about profit.

Check out the FT top 100 companies list go on their websites and read thru diff careers within those companies.
Also think about hr as a career, you'd certainly make a difference!!

hth, I career changed about 4 yrs ago now and am so glad I did xx
