DBS/CRB CHECK - ADVICE PLEASE!

Just got a job with the NHS and am filling out the DBS application form. Do i need to declare the fact that i was arrested for shoplifting when i was 14? (obviously a very stupid mistake)? I am now 30. It didn't go to court or anything, we were just told off, although i guess this counts as a 'reprimand or warning' as the form says. Does the check go back forever or just a certain amount of time? If i admit to it will it stop me from getting the job? Im really worried now that it will go against me. I've been well behaved ever since!

The rules for what is displayed on a check have now been tightened up, I think it is very unlikely that it will show. If it was a formal warning you would have been given some paperwork at the time to say this - were you? Ultimately though I think honesty is always well received and I would always rather someone self declared something that didn't show on the check than omitted to declare something which did iyswim.
