Very passive aggressive behind my back "friend"

Feel very angry and its had me awake for an hour now :( my "friend" at work for last 7yrs went behind my back to my manager and the Snr manager with a proposal last week (timed when i was on leave!) to offer her services to work on my "job" area. She wanted my managers job but was on matetnity leave last yr so didn't go for it. I have also only been in this role a year after mat leave. I recently got a small commendation for managing a project really well and have excellent feedback from my manager. She wants to develop her career which is fine but I feel very used that information I gave her as part of general lunch chit chat has been used to try and take some of my job away. To make matters worse it was announced after she put this in that we are all being restructed so more jobs are at risk. So how do I handle it? Head on ask to talk to her tell her I feel? Or sit on the information and see what shakes out whilst maintaining my professionalism? Right know I'd like to say how fu*king and angry and used I feel by her career climbing but it's a "small" world of work. We are both at the same grade in different teams who work together on bits.

Stay pleasant and professional but back right off.

I hate to say it but absolutely no one is your friend at work. You should always be very careful what you talk about and with who.

Thanks. I spoke with my mgr who is fully supportive and can't believe how she went about this. I have maintained my distance and kept it professional. Just a shame we have been "friendly" for 7yrs but never worked in a cross over area before but I've seen her true colours now.
