DBS check question

I'm hoping to help out at my daughters school. They have a trip on 1st Oct. I need a CRB for this. However, i'm also currently changing jobs and my employer has completed a check for that. Can I obtain a copy and send it to the school or do they have to run their own check? I'm not even sure if my new employer has completed the check yet but if it saves time with the school, I will ask. Thank you!

It is entirely up to the school whether or not they will accept the check run by your employer.

If they are willing to accept your employer's check they will want to see the certificate that the DBS will send you. They will then have to contact your current employer to make sure that the details match (i.e. it really is your check, not you pretending to be someone else) and that there was no additional information disclosed that isn't on the certificate. Your employer is not allowed to give you a copy of any information they receive from the DBS.

DBS checks are personal so the ownership is yours not the employers and the paperwork is sent to you. Some will insist on applying for one again even so, as they are only as good as the date they are done.
