interview tomorrow. any tips?

Hi i have an interview tomorrow. just wondering if anyone has any tips. its for eldely care work. thanks :)

Think from the moment you leave your house that you are the person doing the job for which they're interviewing. How do you walk, what catches your eye in the street, what are you most interested in about that job?

Answer their questions and if there's one you don't quite understand, don't be afraid to check. You can do this by saying something like: "Can I just check I've understood that correctly - are you saying xxx?" It's so much better to do this than to drift off into something irrelevant that then throws you for the rest of the time.

Get everything ready tonight and go to bed so you don't spend hours changing your mind about what to wear and end up exhausted.

Make sure you have some really good examples of work you've done well that you can explain confidently.

When they ask if you have any questions at the end, always have a good one up your sleeve which shows you have thought about the role and your keenness. You will be judged on that question.

thank you openplan... it went good. they said as long as i pass the weeks training they can give me a job. but i have to turn it down because there has been a complication in childcare. :( i really need a job though

Really sorry to hear that and very well done. Is there a chance they might hold it open for a few weeks if that's enough time to sort out your childcare? If you think you're going to have to pass on the job, do call back to ask the interviewer(s) for some specific feedback about what they thought you did well and if there were areas where you could have done even better. If you think you might be going another interview in the not too distant future, it will be helpful to have some pointers.
