Not going back to work, what happens to tax element of OMP?!

Does anyone know if they will deduct tax before asking for it back. I currently hav deductions including pension etc which amount to about 25% and there is a strong possibility I won't go back. Will they deduct this 25% ish amount as I don't know how I can pay it back when I didn't receive it!?

Do you mean enhanced maternity pay?

Presumably the deductions were paid into your pension?

If you repay salary elements and there are any tax issues, you should be able to sort it out on your tax return - but I am not an expert.

Yeh, it's the enhanced element that is due back. Yes deductions paid into pension and tax etc paid to relevant authority.

It may be that your work can reclaim the tax - effectively the "salary" is "cancelled" so either you or they may be able to reclaim.

How long would you have to go back not to repay it?

You need flowery so I'm keeping this bumped for her!
