But I'm not sure what, I resently spent a lot of time in hospital and Santa few days on a ward with a few lovely elderly ladies, some awfully ill and some heartbreakingly confused.

Before I became a single parent I worked as a TA in a primary school.

I'm not sure what positions there are but do feel I'd like to do something in a supportive role eg, making sure there acomidation is ok and they ate getting the support they need from the relevant agency's ect

Any advise?

The easiest to get into and gain experience is prob health care assistant or support worker either in hospital or nursing homes how bout some voluntary work at a dementia cafe/support group or there are charities which provide respite for careers could u try to get in touch with one of them?
If u hav the chance to retrain there wud b choices including nursing and social work or occupational therapy speech and language therapist?
