Stupid q about maternity pay

Apols if this is in the wrong section: I am shortly going off on maternity leave, and currently work f/t. I'd be looking to return to work p/t and plan to give an indication of this to HR when I send in my matb1 etc. My maternity pay is 90% for 1st 6 weeks, 50% for next 6 weeks, then SMP. When they calculate my 90% and 50%, they do that on my existing hrs, don't they? ie 90/50% of full-time wage? Had a thought that if I tell them I want to come back p/t they'll calculate my maternity pay based on that....

TIA Flowers

Yes they take it from what you are working when you go on mat leave so it will be your ft hours!

It is based on what you earned in the qualifying weeks.
