Contractual notice periods

In the t&c at my new company, after probationary period I have to give 2 months' notice, but the company can give just two weeks.

Is this legal?

I thought employee notice couldn't be longer than employer notice... Or did I dream that?

You dreamed it I'm afraid.

It's more usual for notice periods to "match" but as long as the employer gives the legal minimum notice there's no further regulation.
