Advice on maternity pay from employers perspective

Hi, I have been running a small family business for 2 years and am now looking to expand and employ people however I am worried about the costs, I understand I will pay holiday pay etc but does anyone know how much of the maternity pay I am liable for if a member of staff is blessed with a bubba? I thought it was the whole lot but I saw a mumsnet interview recently and it was said that employers only pay a percentage? Any advice would be gratefully received :)

Statutory maternity pay is 6 weeks at 90% of average weekly earnings and 33 weeks at set rate, which is about £135 a week. You can claim smp back from the government. As a small business, I believe you can claim back a little bit extra.

It used to be as a small employer you could claim 110% iirc. Have a look on the hmrc website?
