What's taking so long?

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light.

Basically got through to the final round interviews with a large global company. It's now two weeks since the interview and have not heard anything. Up until this point they were really quick at getting back to me but now it's gone all quiet. I'm not getting any response from the contact I do have so wonder if they are on holiday. Also notice that the job is still open and re-posted with today's date.

I'm taking it as no news is bad news but does anyone know if it normally takes this long to make a decision?

Thanks!

It certainly can. Today I got the news that I really impressed a very large company at interview, but the funding's been frozen, so there's currently no job, but there probably will be...

I currently work for a large company, and things can stall because of the relevant people in the department with the vacancy being away, because of the relevant people in HR being away, because of funding problems, because of cock-ups... Last time we had a vacancy, it did take a very long time to get someone in from when we got the first CVs in, and a lot of that was down to internal bureaucracy.

It's definitely holiday season at the moment. It could be bad news, but it could just be internal delays.
