I had an interview this week and was told that they would let me know either way on Friday. It's now 3:40pm and I've not heard anything. Is it ok to email and ask?...I'm also thinking it's probably not good news at this late stage is it? Sad

I would leave it until Monday.

I think it needs to be a couple of weeks really. Hmm
I was told after an interview I would hear within a week - over 3 weeks later I was offered the job. It turned out they couldn't get hold of one of my references. If I'd called they wouldn't have been able to tell me anything anyway.
Good luck, I hope it's good news.

I think decisions always like to be made by the Friday, but in my experience these can happen very late in the day!! I'd hang on until Monday afternoon and maybe give them a call then, shows you're interested and keen at least.

Thanks for your replies.

Still no news so I will just wait until Monday and maybe get in contact then.

It's just frustrating when you're told a day/time then nothing happens!!

Sit tight, they need to ontact and hear from successful candidate
If 1st choice take post, others will be informed
If 1st choice decline they'll contact 2nd choice and offer them

Has the employer got in touch?

Daisycat22 · 07/08/2013 10:17

Got an email yesterday afternoon and I didn't get the job....not too disappointed, as I thought that was the case.
