My daughter is 10 months old and myself and her are currently living with my father, im 23 and i had never been out of employment until i had her, when she is 12 months i am looking to start back work.... I have been looking at part time employment but it doesn't reach what i am currently getting on benefits, so my thinking is that i would just dive into the deep end and seek full time employment, the reason being is because i want my own house, i want whats best for my daughter and to give her everything she deserves in life, but am i being selfish to start full time when she is so young... I already have a place for her in a nursery and because my auntie is the manager she can start at anytime. Am i being selfish? Help mumsnet!

No, you are not being selfish. You are being responsible, and you are to be applauded.

Who is saying you are selfish?

No. You are doing the right thing. Are you worried you'll enjoy working too much? If you do, it's a bonus!
