We just went through a round of redundancies and still awaiting final details of who is going and the organogram. During the process, my boss asked how I felt about leading this team of 4 people. I was honest and said I had concerns because of x, y and z but that I'd like to know what options were available. My boss said "we didn't have this conversation but I will consult with you and x as I don't want to make this decision on my own. My colleague 'x' told me she heard there was a meeting next week and when I asked my boss, she said "I don't have a clue, sometime this week", yet she is practically the decision maker so surely she should know? Do you think that means I am not managing said group she was talking about? Does this mean she is not likely to consult me to see what I think? I am due to go on holiday on Wednesday and have heard nothing. I don't want to come back to any 'surprises' but I feel I am now not in the loop or being considered. Would u think the same?
Thanks

No. You are overthinking. Your boss has simply said she doesn't know exactly when the meeting is, and unless there's way more to this that you haven't said, I see no reason not to take that at face value, definitely no reason to put all those cryptic interpretations on such an innocuous comment.
