Setting up a toy hire

Can anyone help me please?
I have some ride on cars I want to hire out in a batch for parties - anyone know the legalities I need to follow?
Registering the company?
Buying insurance?
Any help would be much appreciated

Hi Valdeeves, that's a big question.

There are lots of things to consider. What type of company do you want to run (sole trader, partnership, Ltd company)? This will help to answer the registration question.

As for buying insurance, this is probably one you should make your first priority as it will help you to make informed decisions about a number of other factors (particularly pricing etc). There are lots of great insurance companies who will offer you an in depth consultation with one of their reps who would be able to help you identify the best way forward for your comprehensive insurance needs and the costs involved. I have a funny feeling this is going to be one of your most important ports of call in the first instance as it will focus your attention on your specific business model if you are unsure of any of your answers to their questions. Try and find an insurance provider who specialises in your type of business.

Hi there, I think hiring out these would be a great idea for parties. The most important thing is to make sure you have sufficient public liability insurance. We hire out baby and toddler equipment and we use a company called Aston Scott Group who provide our insurance and they are reasonable for great cover. I am not sure if you would also need to do some form of risk assessment. Good luck with your new idea.
