First Post- childcare worries please help!!

Hi there,
This is my first post and I would be so grateful for any advice or tips.
I have just finished studying and have looked after my son who is three in September for 6 weeks full time.
Yesterday I was offered a temporary job for two months starting in two weeks- I really want to take this job on as its perfect and may lead to a secure position.
The problem I have is childcare, I only can afford 800 pounds a month (I live in Islington so it's expensive) and I have contacted all the nurseries in the area and can't find a full time space. Also the upfront fees are worrying me as I have no money.
Any advice would be amazing.

have you looked into childminders?

Hi there, yes had a quick look but they are so expensive plus I would not be able to pay the upfront fees! Really worried as may have to turn down the job. Have no family nearby and they can't help with finances. Thank you for the suggestion though :)

Have you tried childminders? If you go on your council website they should be listed. (however a full time place might be more than £800)

Oh x post. Do you have a dp who might be able to apply for flex working? If you could between you reduce the hours of care needed that might bring the bill down. Also worth checking if your entitled to any working tax credits to pay for it. And can your dp claim childcare vouchers (you buy them on pre tax income so it slightly lowers the bill)

Have you contacted Sure Start. When I lived in Wandsworth they had council run nurseries that were cheaper and they were great at fitting people in. Keep trying the private nurseries too as things change ESP as 3/4yos head off to school nursery. What about some nursery days, some nannyshare/cm days. Best of both! Au pair? Congrats on job.
