I don't really know what I am hoping to achieve from this thread to be honest, I just really need to get this out there and off my chest.

I have worked here now in a senior management role for 2 years. I have a lot of reponsibility and report directly to the MD. It is only a small company with circa 24 employees.

I don't have a contract and never have. Looking to have another baby soon and there is no maternity policy and its not something the MD will dicuss willingly - its all "we'll sort something don't worry". There is no HR department due to the size of the company - HR management effectively ironically comes under my own job remit.

I have recently taken on a lot of extra responsibility/project which is looking like it wont all be completed until early next year. I have contacted the MD twice about this due to the fact that he has promised me a significant payrise once the new job/contract has been completed. I have proposed that due to it being time for my annual pay review again now anyway and that the extra work is a lot more than we initially thought it would be, I would like to implement half of the payrise now and half on completion.

He has completely blanked me on it. He has responded to absolutely everything else and ignored this completely. Its just rude. Even if he just reponded and said "bog off" it would be better than downright ignoring me.

I am fully aware that payrises are not a right and I am lucky to even be promised one in the distance in the first place.

Nothing at the company is ever done properly or in the correct way and have completely had enough and if it wasn't for the fact that I love the people here and didn't need the job to support my family I would be gone like a shot. I have started applying for other stuff, but there isn't a lot about.

I guess I am just grumpy and disheartened. Thanks if you have lasted this far!

Why don't you put your proposal in writing (the 50/50 payrise) so that you have it for your records and hopefully he is prompted to respond to you.

If not maybe ACAS would be able to point you in the right direction?

Yes, this is what I already did so that I would have a record of the conversation. I reminded him in writing too.

Still nothing as of yesterday and he goes of for 3 weeks from today.

Its so rude.
