I've got an interview in just over a week's time. Any tips would be gratefully received! Smile

seriously, good luck, sorry i've no tips for you.

I don't really know what I expect anyone to say really. I'm sure I can do the job with my eyes shut after a bit of training. It's more the fact that I have been out of work for so long that I'm worried I'm going to go blank when they ask me anything.

Maybe they will set up a role play for you to see how you are on the phone:
Sparkler: Hello Dr Who's surgery, Sparkler speaking, can I help you?
Caller: Oh, yes please, I would like to make an appointment for my husband.
Sparkler: Certainly Mrs Caller, is it urgent?
Caller: Yes, he um, isn't very well.
Sparker: Oh dear, I am sorry to hear that. Is is urgent?
Caller: Well, you see, he isn't breathing.
Sparkler: Oh dear that doesn't sound too good. I have a slot a week on Friday at 12noon. OK?

Just practice that and you will will be fine Grin

Sorry Wink Couldn't resist!

No other advice but I hope it goes well Smile

FWIW sparkler, my mum was a doctor's receptionist for about 10 years and she claims she made a point of never saying "Is it urgent" to anyone Smile She used to work out whether it was urgent by what the patient said on the end of the line and give them appropriate appointment times ...
