What qualifications do you need?

I've been mulling over what to do now the kids are older and I love being around the elderly so think this may be an ideal job opportunity?

Any advice appreciated Smile

Usually nothing but some places offer NVQs on the job.

already having an NVQ in care and experience is a bonus but most CA's I interview don't have these. We look for motivation; flexibility; multitasking; enthuisasm; willingness to learn; basic common sense and the list goes on....

we'll provide the basic training and mandatory courses as well as support to study for an NVQ in care. Then we'll offer secondments into nursing too.

Apply to your local hospital to work on the nurse bnak! I do it. It fits in grt with the kids and I didn't need ny exp, just all the qualities you would expect! Now doing my nurse training hopefully all being well! Go for it!
