NHS Payband 7

Any NHS people out there? I'm wondering what the top of a band 7 takes home after tax etc these days?
Looking at returning to work and there seem to be few 8s out there but just seen a 7 and wondering if it will work with childcare costs/travel etc.

bump, or if anybody can tell me what %age I need to take off to work out take home pay?

I generally work on 2/3 take home pay but if you google "take home pay calculator" you'll get a better answer.

Would you be sure to get top of band? I'm assuming that's what you were before you went out of the work force but I'm not sure what the current rules are around offering anything above bottom of band.

I'm about 3 pay points off the top of Band 7 I'm in London so salary includes London weighting but I'm on about 36500. Take home pay each month is about 2400. Hope that helps.

Really? I'm 2 points off top of band 5 and take home £1900-2000 a month, not London. Fulltime, doing shifts and weekend.

Thanks fo the responses. If I can't go to the top of the band then I'd have to look for an 8a....but there seem to less 8s about now.

I've been to the top of a 7 having been an 8a before but I think it may well depend on the organisation.

I'm not sure how /if I'll get back in, part time, not too far from home, and everything seems to have changed so much but it is what I know!
