How many times were you interviewed for promotion before getting it? (or how many times do I need to put myself up for rejection?)

had interview for a 'next band up' job this week. my 3rd this year, and didn't get any, although this weeks one was entirely positive feedback, nothing I could improve on just didn't have recent experience in that department and another candidate did.
but really, am I kidding myself? I would have got one by now if I was going to surely?

so, do I keep putting myself up there?

I know of someone (not NHS) who went to 5 interviews before getting his promotion.

If it is important to you, keep trying. Get as much detailed feedback as you can. Good luck.

A lot of the time it does just depend who the other candidates are. V hard not to take personally but take on board the positive comments and keep trying. Smile
