I am very lucky to have been offered a place on the HV course this year although I still have a few questions and I am wondering whether anyone could help? Realistically what are the hours like as a HV once you qualify and how much do you get paid during your training? (Have been told band 5 which is a bit broad). I guess Im nervous about giving up my safe job which I do enjoy, to go back to uni again. I am told there will be jobs once we finish the course but with the NHS changing so much at the moment, there's no guarantee and there will be other applicants etc. There have been alot of redundancies in areas such as OT, SALT etc so wondering how long it will be until HV is effected?!
