2nd Knock Back This Week - Very Frustrating!

Second time this week - thanks but no thanks.

I've been at home for a while, last job was in 2010 but I'm really targeting my applications so that my experience matches really well. I've got a degree and an MBA and nobody wants me Sad. I've applied for lots of things and still the same story.

I've asked for feedback so I know what the problem is but they don't get back in touch. Recently had a conversation with an agent who told me my management experience was 'too long ago', as if you forget how to be a manager. She sounded about 12 so perhaps is inexperienced herself but I could have howled with frustration.

I know I need to be patient and I'm exploring other options (contracting) but I need some up-to-date stuff on my CV. Sorry for the rant, just wish people would use their imagination and understand that your brain doesn't turn to mush just because you haven't worked full time all your life Angry

That's rubbish. I am probably due to be in a similar situation, but having only newly decided to go back to work, haven't got to the knock back stage.

Are there any voluntary options that you could do the freshen up your cv? Our local families and children's service (sure start) are desperate for extra pairs of hands to do back office stuff as well as run play groups. They will also pay for training courses. They openly promote volunteering with them as a route back into the paid workforce.

Thanks LaGuerta, I'll have a look at what's around. I suppose I shouldn't expect it to be easy but it is certainly harder than I thought it would be.

Best of luck with your search Smile
