Teaching and Bank Holidays

I teach in a Scottish secondary school and I've been informed that I need to scribe for an exam candidate on a bank holiday.

Does anyone know what I should expect in terms of time off in lieu?

Thanks

Depends what it says in your contract Eliza, is it mentioned?

The law regarding holidays states that everyone must receive a minimum of 5.6 weeks and that includes bank holidays. ie if you work all bank holidays in a year you are still only entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday. Bank holidays are treated no differently to any other day.

I'm aware teaching is worked out differently though and have no knowledge of how its calculated, sorry.
