Strange phone call

I received a phone call to work last week where the caller said my name upon me answering
Jane?
Yes.
It's Clare's Health and Beauty.
I faltered because I hadn't heard of Clare's health and beauty and didn't know why they would be calling me.
The caller said
You left a message on the phone for me to contact you.
I said I'm sorry I didn't leave a message and she rang off.

I rang her back because I wanted to check if my surname was left as well. It wasn't.

I am the only person in my office with the name Jane (there are about 15 of us in the department).

Also the call, did not come through via the admin staff but via the admin manager's number.

I just wondered if anyone could shed any light on this or has had any experience of this.

Many thanks

Jane

Are you in Liverpool? Why don't you just phone and ask why she called you?

Grimaud · 27/05/2013 09:56

Sorry she called me because she thought I wanted to make an appointment but I hadn't. it just seems a bit strange that if someone with the same name as me would leave a message on the answer machine of a beauty parlour with a phone number from my work place?

I'm not in Liverpool.

Spooky coincidence..?

Grimaud · 27/05/2013 18:44

Maybe.

I had been involved in team meeting earlier that day where I thought World War 3 was going to break out. One of my colleagues I find quite harrassing. Eg. She followed me out of work one day and watched me get into my car in the car park. I just wondered if she could be enough of a ut case to pull a stunt like that. It's just because when I told my colleagues what had happened the first thing that two of them said on separate occasions was "oh that's where x goes/uses.

Co-incidence?

You think a collegue called a salon she uses and left your name and work number to pretend to book an appointment?

Is there more of a back ground to this?
