Question about wording relating to VAT

This is dull, but I need advice.

I have to complete a form which says my "Fee will be ............ per day [exclusive/inclusive] of VAT" delete as applicable.

I am not VAT registered and do not charge VAT.
So I cannot say my price is inclusive of vat. But... is it correct to say exclusive of vat? Will that not result in them adding vat on top of the figure i've given?

Thanks.

"VAT is not applicable to this invoice"
is the standard wording
