I have a 5yr old DS, in reception. Joint custody with my ex. My mum round the corner that helps with childcare enormously and my sister is a sahm with 3 kids who can help out in emergencys.
Job one - shifts - 2 weeks of 6-2 then 2 weeks of 1-9 some weekend work, but a long weekend Friday - Monday every 4 weeks. 10 weeks of annual leave. Commute either half hour driving or hour on train, sometimes can get free parking sometimes not. Not too mentally stimulating but amusing enough you don't get bored. Have to wear unflattering (understatement emoticon) uniform.
Job two - mon - fri 9-5. 4 weeks annual leave. 1.5 hours commute each way, virtually no chance of driving so will have to use train. Mentally stimulating. Normal office clothes.
Both same money, same pension etc.
