help needed with my cleaner

to start with id like to say my cleaners are great there is 2 of the and they come for 2 hours together so i pay for 4. the problem is when i was looking for something on the pc i found chat logs that werent mine. the cleaner had been using the pc pretty much the whole time she was here. dont know what to do

if you don't want to bring it up just put a password on your pc, thn she will prob guess you have found her out.

I would have a word and say that you have found this on the computer and you are dissapointed to learn that she is not doing what she is paid for and what is she going to do about it?

Tell them you've had a monitering device installed and will dock their pay according to the number of hours spent on the internet - that's the nice way if you want to keep them on. Personally I would offer one more chance and if they do it again -they will be sacked! If your computer isn't off limits, what else isn't?

I'd get rid too. I have work sensitive stuff on my home computer and am paranoid about anyone else accessing it. Plus ds's friends think it funny to change pictures, messages etc if it's left unattended(ha bloody ha) You wouldn't let them use your clothes would you, it's just damn cheeky. What if they downloaded something really horrible or caused you to have a computer virus? Not on at all IMO.

think ill say comp has a virus and i have no idea why see if she says anything. it didnt used to be a prob cos i was off o a monday but my days have changed so im not at home when they are here. will put a password on pc aswell

I'd say good bye based on mistrust. And I'd tell her she owes me for the two hours she was paid and didn't work.

However, I wouldn't have a cleaner in my house if no one was there to supervise. I'm simply not that trusting. In fact, it used to be my nanny's job to supervise the cleaner. Then she said she wasn't comfortable taking on that role any more. So, now we have ne cleaner. Sad

The fact that they do a good job is a heavy influence my answer because I am not brave enough to look for a cleaner based on the horror stories of paying someone only to have to do the cleaning yourself: Give them one more chance. I like the idea of adding a password to the computer as I hate confrontation...

thats my problem i hate confrontation and they did help me out when i broke my ankle and the day before dds bday the stayed longer and i asked how much i was due them and they only took the same amount. when i come home the house is always tidy but its the fact that shes been sitting at my pc that gets to me. i think im quite understanding and allow the younger1 (they are mother and daughter) to have a fag in the kitchen.

i would sack them, its a horrible invasion of privacy and it they're dishonest enough to do that then what else could they be getting up to? i wouldnt trust them again. i know you feel bad because they helped you out but that means nothing when you are paying them to sit and chat on the pc all day..they probably owe you much more time than they gave helping you out iyswim!

I would disconnect the computer and try and arrange for someone to 'pop round' while you are at work to see what is going on.

I would be furious but not be able to confront the problem and if they are good, do you want to lose them?

Agree get rid if one of them is chatting on the PC guarenteed the other one will be up to no good also, very much an invasion of privicy and inapproriate. Different if it was a nanny who you had given permission to to use PC, then I would get into discussions with time spent on PC. But cleaner in for 2hrs no discussion show them the door.

I have to say the same as many -they should go. They are abusing you trust and using something they have no right to. If I found out this was happening I would be seriously concerned about what else they possibly may be getting up to possible nosying through your drawers, using your phone etc etc.

As a side point, my MIL had a cleaner who used to help herself to booze whilst cleaning their house. FIL noticed the vodka, whiskey,gin etc was constantly going down.

If you're sure it's the cleaners, sack them. Immediately. As Batters suggests, or more directly.

They shouldn't be turning your computer on - outrageous behaviour. And defineitley can't be trusted.
