Hi all,

Am after a little advice. I have just been offered a job. Only 1 and a half days a week but every little helps. The thing is I am breastfeeding and my LO is 10 months (also feeding my 2 year old). I'm thinking for the half day she will be ok. But what about the full day? Would I need to express or would she just be able to go without for those 8 hours?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

How is she with food/drinking from bottle/cup? I did KIT days with dd3 this age and she was fine as she was a good eater and just had water from a cup while I was gone. I had to express a bit for comfort though

When my LO was 10 months I had to express once or sometimes twice in work, after a while - as he got older- I stopped pumping. He's 2 now and still breastfed and I work full time. From 1 he was having cows milk anyway but he still feeds if he's with me. it is possible to work and keep feeding.

Up to you- express if necessary for comfort but your 10 month old should
Be fine for the day. I returned to work when dd was under 6 months and I used to bf early morning and during the evenings after work, and dd drank from a cup while I was at work.

At this age, it should be fine to just bd morning and evening and LO will survive on solids plus drinks from a cup. My DD has never drunk milk from any source apart from me, I went back to work at 11 months and she is fine, she does eat a lot of yoghurt and cheese though!

Bf not bd!

I went back to work p/t when DS was 11 months. He was used to being bf on demand until the day I went back.

He was fine with food and cups of water during the day. I got a bit uncomfortable for the first couple of days but supply soon settled down.

DS carried on bf until just before 2nd birthday.

I went back to work when DC1 was 6mo and she was a bottle-refuser until around 9mo. She fed morning and night and managed fine in between. You'll be fine!
